Geeks With Blogs Part I

In this two parter we talk with Jeff Julian and John Alexander about blogging, podcasting and expoiting bleeding edge technology. Jeff and John are a couple of hard charging consultants for Visionpace, a Microsoft Partner http://www.visionpace.com. Jeff is also an XML MVP and John is a Microsoft Regional Director. If that doesn't keep them busy enough, they run www.GeekswithBlogs.net and are the hosts of the www.PodcastStudio.Net show, provided as a service to the Microsoft technology community as a whole.

In Show 15, we talk with Tim Hibbard about "Where's Tim?", GPS technologies, where we see the future of GPS going, and Web 2.0 APIs. This was a really fun show to record.

Episode 14 finds us in a great discussion with Billy Hollis on smart clients and Visual Studio 2005!! We talk about some simple and complex scenarios, the state of data binding and some useful tips and patterns. This wouldn't be complete without ending with some thoughts on how WinFx (Windows Presentation Foundation and Windows Workflow Foundation) fits in moving forward.

In this show, we talk with HDC speaker Phil Wolfe about the Composite UI Application Block, Portals, the switch to WinForms, and how we think articles will change with the release of .NET 2.0. This will be the last speaker we release from the HDC and next week we will publish Joe Olson who ran the event. Afterwards, it will be back to John and I and we have a lot to talk about, including some new goodies for recording.

Our guest this week is Robert Hurlbut, Microsoft Security MVP. We discuss Security Best Practices, encryption preferences, and Visual Studio 2005 security enhancements. This show was recorded at the Heartland Developers Conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

In this interview, Dave Donaldson talks with us about quality software, unit testing, and code snippet technology. He launched a site called CodeKeep, dedicated to code snippets reference and storage. This show was recorded at the Heartland Developers Conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
