I just learned that Red Young joined Eric Burdon (The Animals) on a world tour. Red is exceptional soul jazz musician and one of a kind Hammond B3 player. Last time I saw him in Dallas area doing Wednesday jazz nights in Django on the Parkway club in Addisson. Once I even had a chance to play entire set with him and the band over there. Darren & friends have started jamming again at new location on Sundays - Upscale Lounge restaurant in Renton Highlands. This place is really nice and has an excellent stage and good sound. A lot of fine musicians are coming and it's gonna be fun. The time is 7-10pm and here's directions. I'm coming this Sunday and bringing my axe too. Stop by and have a great jazzy-bluesy-funky time...

Darren is back in town! He's going to play at The Triple Door Musicquarium in downtown Seattle on Tuesdays this month. Great smooth jazz saxophone player he's surrounded by other excellent musicians

There's a great jazz trumpet player in Dallas: Freddie Jones. He's got very distinct sound. His trumpet's is velvet soft yet every note is well defined; improvisations are virtuosic yet very melodic.
