Obfuscate

Today I demoed some software from a company that is worth over $20,000.

I have one word for them..... OBFUSCATE

Its mind blowing to me how these companies sell software for this much money and aren't smart enough to hide what their selling from the rest of the world.

For those of you out there who haven't had your minds “freed” in Matrix terms, go here and download “Reflector”

http://www.aisto.com/roeder/dotnet/

Invaluable resource for learning how things work, and making fun of stupid software companies who give away their secrets.

Obfuscation is way overrated. If MS had obfuscated their assemblies, I would have wasted countless hours waiting for answers. Instead, I got to waste countless hours scouring IL dumps :-).

I posted my opinion on software IPR last Sunday (see http://dotnetjunkies.com/weblog/alan.dean/posts/3054.aspx)
