I've never been east of Winnipeg except for the 3 days I spent in Toronto for Uncle Grant's wedding. I was looking forward to seeing scenery that would be much different than the west coast and the prairies. After a couple hours I got that wish fulfilled as I watch countless little lakes and boreal forest for the next 24 hours. I took some pictures, of Lake of the Woods and some other random areas.
I didn't meet any crazy people on this leg of the journey but I did have a couple interesting chats with some folks during meal time. During dinner I saw with a cute girl from Albuquerque and an older couple from Sault Ste Marie. The couple were huge fans of the CBC and their likeness to Jerry Seinfeld's parents was uncanny. During breakfast the next day I sat with a couple from New Hampshire and a glaciologist. The glaciologist was a non stop talker. He had lots of interesting things to say about climate change and all sorts of other things glacier related.
I'm not sure what it is about this trip but I seem to be coming across as really young. Perhaps all that CBC swag is the key to youth. I've had 3 groups of people ask if I just graduated from high-school and another lady asked if I was traveling with a junior hockey team. It's been great for my ego!
