yep - me too. And the text in the email isn't exactly the same as that uploaded. some space characters are deleted in the display process.

I have a similar problem I enable the POP3 into the setting but I can't see the email from Outlook since he reconize the password so I can only see it online what is the problem??

I am not able to use the "Attach File" feature in the compose Mail window. Infact my "Send" buttona and a couple of other buttons dont work.

I've notices Google mail searches through *.xls files and displays advertisments. Maybe they don't wan't an *.mdb due to it's huge record capacity, that would probably have an effect on their search software.

I need your hands to solve my issue in gmail. When I tried to attach the file but not attached in attachament, why?? I have been wasting time to wait this attaching but it did not work, is it something wogn with gmail server? Pls help me as soon as possbile.

When I want to attach a file in the email, I click on 'Attach a file' link.
This opens up the drop box with link 'Browse' .
However even after clicking on this link there is no action. I am not able to browse the PC and hence can not attach any file.
Please suggest me a way out.

It is possible to send out zip files to gmail. One way of doing that is remove all special characters (ex: @) from the file name inside the .zip file. You may have to do a trial and error to see which character might be posing the problem. Gmail considers ceratin special characters as spam or whatever :)

I was able to attach the file to my composed mail and send it. Howe ever the file was not sent to receipient nor it is in the send mail box. The gmail is sending only the message part with no attachments. Can any one suggest a solution to this problem? Thank you.

It has been well determined that lots of people have this problem but no solutions. There are suggestions of disable pop ups, or stop the virus blocker. None of these have worked. I have down loaded ie 7 and it made no change. I have updated windows but whenever I click on the button to make an attachement to my e-mail it brings up the last folder that was open, and immediately closes the entire browser. and folder. i can open browser in attachment and after , gmail can not take the file , it mean it is attaching .

option "Attachments"

chose the "Basic Attachement features"

(i think it will work if only you change it from whatever it is now)

Save Changes

HOWEVER, when I saved it as a draft, actually went to Gmail itself in another tab (the inbox area), opened up the draft, THEN I COULD attach.

If it's happening when you are clicking on an e-mail link, try saving as draft, going to gmail, and trying it again. It worked for me.

Changing the attachment settings to "basic attachment features" solved my problem. I *think* (not 100% here, but *think*) that the root problem was that I don't have a new enough version of Flash, which the default "advanced" settings require.

i had same problem too, but after i changed back to old version its all good now. old version is on the top right.

"Basic Attachment" is only a work-around. The real issue has yet to be solved.

I have tried attaching jpegs and pdf in gmail...but not attaching sometimes when i zip it they get attached......but now even that doesnt work.........can any one help me y this is happeneing?????

Thanks for posting these solutions, I've been having issues attaching files in both Firefox AND IE. It finally worked after changing to Basic in attachment settings.

ive experience that to , what i do is i switch my gmail into older version (next to settings), but as far as i know , they do that becuz they have new browser ( GOOGLE CHROME).

i think you should download the google chrome browser , its the best way you could do ..for you to be able to attached file with no worries ..

when i attach a pdf format file of 3.2 mb then it shows attachment failed what is the possible reason?

When attempting to attach a 300 KB photo (from my C: drive) to an email, the path displayed is not the actual path. The path display is consistently "C:/fakepath/filename.jpg". The "fakepath" filename is showing up with attempting to attach ANY type of file, and the file never actually attaches.

With gmail when trying to attatch a file I get the error message "C:\fakepath\..." What's happening?

The only reason why I even switch to gmail is because of the 20mb attachment feature!!!! >:(
