The last month was pretty rich in terms of the free downloads I found available online, so, thought I needed to list some of those, and clearly got busy/late for that! however, I thought I'll also drop the list in case someone missed any.
- Form Scott Guthrie (AKA: ASP.NET Hero)'s Blog:
- Google Stuff:
- SQL Server 2005 Downloads:
- SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1: Quickly moved from CTP to final. This is the same installer for both Express and any other eidition of SQL Server 2005. (prevously posted that, but, I'd miss it in this list if I haven't got it here!)
- SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with advanced services: Quickly moved from CTP to final. This is the typical SQL Server 2005 Express, but with SQL Server Management Studio Express, reporting services, and Full-Ttext search integtrated. (more)
- SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Toolkit: Quickly moved from CTP to final. This is a collection of development tools, like Connectivity Components, Business Intelligence Development Studio, Management Studio Express, and a Software Development Kit. (more)
- ATLAS April CTP: I mentioned this before, and listed som cool resources about it, check them out.
- ATLAS Control Toolkit: A list pf great web controls based on ATLAS (released from MS too). I showed some resources for them in the last post. (Expect a refresh soon with even more controls!)
- * Update: Virtual Server 2005 R2 - Enterprise Edition! Yes, this is really FREE! (SP1 BETA download link and availability details)
At last, some more outdated stuff that were previously announced by end of March, but, couldn't miss putting them here:
- * Update: Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar BETA2: Basicly, a set of handy tools for inspecting DOM, viewing your site in different ways (w/ or w/o: CSS, JS, images, etc, and/or, in different sizes [like resolutions]) and more. VERY helpful.
- RSS Toolkit for ASP.NET 2.0 - Updated Version: Toolkit by Dmitry on the ASP.NET Team. This is exactly what I at least would love to have when I think about consuming (and more importantly to me, exposing) RSS feeds. Again, Just awasmoe! (Scott Guthrie: announcement, tutorial - direct download)
- Visual Studion 2005 Express! Wait.. If you noticed, Visual Studio 2005 Express was originally to donwload for one year only, and then use later for unlimited time, which is a weird policy really. Now, it's available to freely download and use all forever.
- Some bloody cool Enterprise Library v2 Extensions: Discover them yourself! ;-)
Sorry for getting those too late. It just work load, and exams are geting damn closer too :(. I'll try not to be always outdated in the future, if I amange to :-S.
* Thanks to Robin Edwards, Charles Aunger for reminding me to submit the highlighted updates parts.
