Cool use for Groove

I am smitten by Groove. I admit it. If you have not heard of Groove before, it is a new part of Office 2007 that is to date, little known. I am using Groove in the peer to peer mode as we do not currently have Groove Server installed. In the course of my daily work, I am constantly receiving links to websites that I may want to view in the future. I even have a folder in Favorites Center in Internet Explorer called "~ToBeRead" to store these links. The problem is that I there are times when I want to catch up on reading those websites, but I am not in front of the machine that I have saved them on. Groove helps me solve this. Hooray! Using a special File Sharing workspace, I can keep the favorites synchronized on all of my computers. To get this working do the following:

  1. From the Groove Launchbar, chose Options | Preferences.
  2. On the Synchronization Tab, check the Internet Favorites checkbox and click the OK button.
  3. On the Groove Launchbar, in the Workspaces tab, you will see a workspace named "Internet Explorer Favorites." Right click on this workspace and select Invite "My Other Computers."
  4. If you do not currently have your Groove account on another computer, the "Use Account on Another Computer" window opens with instructions for setting up your account for use on another computer.
  5. If you do have your Groove account on another computer, the workspace data is automatically downloaded to the other computer immediately, if the other computer is currently online, or the next time you log in on the other computer.

Happy Coding!รกรกรกรก
