After returning home from Toronto I left the next day for Redmond where I will be doing a summer internship with the Transports and Connectivity team at Microsoft. So far so good - I have managed to get through customs, get my rental car, drive to my apartment, and get an internet connection....life is good!
For all my car buff friends, I am the proud renter of a 2003 chevy malibu with power everything. Enough about the wheels, lets talk location. I am accross the street from Microsoft. I hope the building I will be working in is close to the edge of campus where I live.
Oh yes, I have yet to describe our last day at VSLive in Toronto. It started out with tech talks throughout the day, which were very cool. We then proceeded onto more inteviews with the “Mobile Gadget News” website. After the interview bananza was complete, the team headed back to our hotel for some much needed rest (all 30 minutes or so of it). We then headed over to Tim Horton's (when in Ontario do as the Ontarioians) to grab a big baguette for dinner. We scarfed that down and headed over to the radisson to meet up with the guys from Object Sharp who had invited us on their “limo bus” for a pub crawl. We hit about 3 bars including the hard rock cafe that over looks the sky dome field. Throughout the night I had the pleasure of chatting with Microsft MVPs, Microsoft PMs, employees and owners of Object Sharp and DataGrid girl. I know I have said it already, but the night was awesome - well done Object Sharp. I can't forget to meantion they picked up the tab all night long.
