What can I say, it is a hard life being a geek in Israel. Nothing is available, and even when it is - it is so expensive.

Yes you can consider this a rant, whine, whatever, just that when I look on the web and see all these wonderfull gadgets that can be mine, or all those available TV chanells, or even something as simple as doughnuts or bagels....

You know, you have no idea, you in the US of A, how good you have it.

One advantage though :( it helps me save my money (for what, who knows?!)

Moshe- are you telling me you can't get good bagels in Israel? That is one thing I would have assumed you could get. It is the thing I have missed the most since leaving NYC, but I keep hearing that there are some REAL bagels in Montreal, too! :-) Not to make light of what you are really saying here. I like to think that most people in the U.S. have an appreciation for this.

Well... maybe that was a slight exagaration, there is a small chain here in Israel that provides acceptable bagels (i'm speaking with the experience of true bagles from NYC :))

This, however, is quite a new developement, and hopefully won't go the way the Dunkin Doughnuts went (bankrupt) - yes we had them once in Israel, but not for long. So call me a paranoid but I'm worried :(

so maybe you could get Essa Bagel to open a branch there? :-)

Moshe- I'm doing a project in a class in college where I have to take on the personality of someone living in Israel and have a debate with other students pretending to be from Palestine, and other nations. Could you give me any insight on some things I should talk about or some positions I could have? I could even be you :-) Thanks.
