I have been tasked to give a presentation on technology tomorrow, to an audience which has not been exposed to software development and i'm wondering what i should talk about. My area is software engineering and technology as a subject is very wide, i'm limited to computer technology. Maybe i should talk about new computer devices, or probably some new things the C#2008 with .NET 3.5, or maybe some things i expect to use in the VS2008SP1?

Oh... Its so difficult because my mind is mainly filled with interesting things like ADO.NET Entity Framework, LINQ to SQL, Subsonic, MVC, WPF, WCF, Silverlight and others.
Maybe i should talk about mobile phones? What do i know about phones? SDKs and APIs. I dont even know the latest phones. I will stumble in this area.

Perhaps e-learning? Sounds good. What do i know about e-learning? SCORM? Maybe cars? Thats even worse. I don't know much about cars expect driving and the horn.

I'm basically stuck. Maybe i should open up to other dimensions of life, so that if such an opportunity comes by i will be able to make a positive impact.

Thanks a lot. I have just stumbled on a magazine which talk about robotic prosthetics with human interfaces. i found that interesting and i hope i can gather enough information to explain how it can help people with disabilities.

Nice one Malisa
So what did you talk about?

I been checking out ado.net data services, ado.net entity framework and am loving it.

I like that now without righting lots and lots of code you can abstract your data as services.

I just talked about new technologies, which would really affect their lives.

*Robotic Prosthetic Limbs (for amputated limbs)
*Electronic Nose
*Foldable mobile phones and laptops
*Visual systems (To enable vision in Fog and night)

It was really interesting. They loved it.

I wish i had talked about ADO.NET and C#. Anyway, its nice to see that you are blogging.
