We all have to die sometime. But why not make it later rather than sooner?

My old Porsche 944 has been on the fritz lately, so I've been ridesharing with a friend. Normally we leave the office around 6pm, and the commute takes around half an hour. Leaving any earlier is such a waste as it takes twice as long, the majority of the time spent parked on an interstate breathing in fumes. With two of us we can take advantage of the HOV lane, but still at that hour it is so utterly ineffective. And I'm not interested in lending any additional support to big oil with countless...

This is shaping up to be a pretty good week. Maybe Thursday Bush will announce that the U.S. is finally joining the Kyoto accord, and Friday everyone's favorite Iranian -- Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -- will discover that those 3000 new centrifuges he bought are much better used for making delicious milkshakes than enriching uranium hexafluoride. Y'know, after reading over my last post about the TV-autism link, I see that I was a little harsh on Gregg, Michael, and the others who wrote the report. Okay, I was even downright inflammatory. I apologize. It's a hot button for me because of our friends who have had to go through so many trials with their autistic little ones. Sadly they are often completely misunderstood because most people assume that the wild behavior of their children is from bad parenting, never knowing about their condition....

UPDATE: Let's toss TV out of the equation entirely, and focus on precipitation vs autism! Here's more info. We're friends with a family that has three severely autistic children. It's an amazingly difficult thing to care for them. Our family has spent quite a bit of time in their home, and occasionally we help out with babysitting and such in order to give them a much-needed break.
