The Arizona .NET User Group is proud to present
Live, for one day only

Eric Sink and Scott Guthrie

My friend Scott Cate and I have been busy organizing our biggest function of the year for the Arizona .NET user group.  This free all-day event will be held Wednesday September 6th at the Orpheum theater in Phoenix, Arizona.

A little about our featured guests:

Scott Guthrie is a General Manager within Microsoft’s Developer Division.  He runs the development teams that build:
  • ASP.NET,
  • Atlas,
  • Windows Forms,
  • CLR,
  • Commerce Server,
  • IIS7,
  • .NET Compact Framework, and
  • the Visual Studio Web and Client Development Tools.

His presentation includes over three hours demonstrating the latest technology from Microsoft: Atlas, IIS7, LINQ, and other tips and tricks with ASP.NET 2.0.  For a taste of what to expect during his presentation, take a peek at this video on Channel 9 of the presentation he did last year during our last über-meeting.

Eric Sink has an amazing amount of experience in the industry, having been the driving force behind the development of the first version of Internet Explorer.  Nine years ago he founded SourceGear, which offers leading products for source control.  A programmer at heart, in his spare time he writes code, and is currently creating a WPF application to design woodworking projects.  His Apress book “Eric Sink on the Business of Software” is an often-recommended guide for anyone selling software for a living.

The venue will be the Orpheum theater, which is a work of art in and of itself. This ornate building is the only theater in Phoenix to be listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1929 in a Spanish Baroque Revival style, it was completely restored in 1997 and is one of the top venues in the Southwest.

We'd like to kindly thank our sponsors who have made this event possible:

Decent hotel rooms in Phoenix are going for only $60 a night, and you can usually get a cheap flight from America West or Southwest, so please make travel arrangements now to attend this full day of world-class instruction.

If you will be joining us then please RSVP to confirm your spot.  (Once logged in, use the RSVP option in the group of buttons at the top of the post.)

We look forward to having you in attendance with us on September 6th.
