IE going crazy

Ever since I upgraded to Server 2003 SP2, I've been having a problem with IE not shutting down properly.  Sure, the window closes, but the process is held open.

I just cracked open my Task Manager, and saw about 50 instances of iexplore.exe...

Anyone have any idea of why this is happening?

Hey maybe it's because you too much in the future and Windows 2003 doesn't know yet what you are trying to do... I suppose you're talking about SP1 right, because there is no SP2 for Server 2003 yet. ;-).

As for you problem well, do you have any third party add-ins in IE they something lock IE on shutdown. Also download processExplorer from sysinternals and click on one the iexplore.exe process look at what dll are used and what threads are also in use that may give you clues...

Cheers,
