I think I'm realizing something about systems, especially systems that people use. I'm realizing that what I thought about writing systems was kind of backwards. Instead of getting data into a system being the priority, I'm realizing that getting data out (particular in reporting) is where I should be spending a majority of my time. It's an area that I've typically avoided, only doing the bare minimum of what is necessary.
It turns out that reporting and analysis is probably 90% of the game.
