Or to confirm the message was ok and clean. I subscribe to mine on a 15 minute interval to ensure the message looked ok as RSS and not just the web. Most bloggers don't worry about output as much as me though.

I'll make three for that vote. Also because I want to see the comment that I'm getting without having to open up my webmail or go to my actual website - i've already got RSSBandit open, so why should I have to open IE just to view my own posts that i use for collecting useful links?

it has nothing to do with narcisissm... and from a psychological standpoint (my wife being a Ph.D), those who make blanket accusations like this are often trying to cover up their own tendencies towards the accused trait.

Maybe narcissism is too strong... how about vanity to describe people who like to see themselves?

vanity i'd vote for. i do like seeing my own blog pop up with a new message... it makes me feel special.... like i have some special connection to the world around me, and i at least pretend that people are paying attention to what i have to say.

I agree with Jeff and James, I just want to make sure it is publishing ok over RSS and it looks right. It gives me a chance to go back and correct things if I don't like the way they look in the aggregator.
