Vincent Ferrari - An AOL victim

I've heard about this story for a while but have only just seen the actual call that took place here:

...pretty shocking I must say. I'm sure AOL has contributed plenty to the introduction of the internet to the average joe user and is a factor that resulted in the widespread use of internet globally today. However from a technical user perspective I have never liked the way AOL marketed themselves through their mass mailing of CDs and 'in your face' adverts.

I'm wondering too if the guy at the call center wasn't just doing what AOL directed him and all the other reps to do when someone calls to cancel. Wouldn't really suprise me.

It seems like the guy at the call center was taking things in his own hand to try and refuse the cancellation. Although there are suggestions that other people had similar experience. Makes me wonder what kind of call transcript have been given to the AOL call center staff.
