Off the Beaten Path Kyle Hebb's web log - notions and ramblings of this "high tech" life I breathe
I signed up last week with a web host (myhosting.com) for a new domain and the whole process was exceptionally easy. The price seemed right and the services offered were great for a “test” site using ASP.NET in a “live” situation. After I completed the process, I tried migrating over a SQL Server database (about 2 Mb in size) but found they implemented a 100 kb limitation on file size for importing. They do provide a script file to assist with the process for larger files but if a problem arises, you are left with little assistance. I guess that I have learned from this whole experience as I enjoy having complete control of my SQL Server through Enterprise Manager and hate wasting time trying to overcome such imposed limitations where my time could be put to more productive use.   Posted on Sunday, June 20, 2004 8:12 PM | Back to top
