[Crosspost from Managed World]

How many of you out there have a Sonic near you? This may show my love of food (perhaps too much), but I've been seeing a lot of Sonic commercials lately and Unwrapped on the Food Network just had a segment on Sonic. I am totally dying to try this place out. I just want to know from someone that has tried it if it is any good. Unfortunately, the closest one to me is in Idaho I believe (and I'm not THAT obsessed with food).

I know, I know, a pathetic post to make coming out of my posting coma. What can I say? I'm no Rory, that's for sure. It just figures that my first post in a long time is about something that has directly contributed to my poor health :P.

You would like it. Sonic is much better than the old McDonalds or Burger King. The drive in atmosphere makes it that much better.

I am an Associate Manager at a Sonic in Kansas, I love the food and the work Environment. Customer Service is Our Top Priority. We take the time to learn customers names and Know what they want before they even Push the Red Button! I just wish all Places could do the same!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 3/16/2006 3:44 PM David
I have yet to see a Sonic commercial that I do not like.
They have cornered the market on funny nerds, and they put the message over with brilliance.
I hope they keep the actors.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 3/21/2006 11:57 PM Stokes
If there are no SONICs in Oregon or Washington (I checked on their site). Why have we been seeing these freaking adds for over a year! Its' driving a bunch of us up here at the Portland UPS building insane... we're starting to consider working out a next day air delivery of sonic from somwhere ;)

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 3/22/2006 7:51 AM amishdad
One just opened in Brownstown, Pa. Am going for the first time today....am passing on the Dunkin Donuts that somebody brought into the office so that I can properly stuff my face with Sonic goodies. But may take me forever to decide what to try first. Been tortured by their commercial for over a year. Ahhhhhh......soon to be satisfied!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 4/5/2006 9:50 AM Daisy
My husband and I made an hour detour on our trip to Cali. just for Sonic! We hit it on our way to our destination AND on the way back! Totally worth the trip! I go crazy for that Ocean Water, seriously DON'T SHOW COMMERCIALS in Washington state if you aren't going to put a Sonic here! It's just unfair to all of us who have been put under the Sonic Spell!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 4/8/2006 8:03 PM Trevor

i used to live in kansas where there was an abundance of Sonics- which i took advantage of- but i now live in Pennsylvanie and there aren'y any fot hundreds of miles. I'm going nuts! I guess I'll either have to move back to kansas or start my own franchise!

Just to let everyone know I work for a company that has direct contact with New Sonic Franchisees and I know that it will make you all happy to know that there is a Sonic opening in Central Point, OR in May; one in Portland, OR in July and then on in Spokane, WA in May. Hopefully this will satisfy your cravings!! My suggestion is to try the Extra Long Cheese Coneys and the slushes. They are wonderful.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 5/7/2006 10:18 AM Matt
Here in TN we have a LOT! Not only is their food good, the atmosphere is awesome. Everything on their menu is good. :D

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 5/12/2006 10:42 AM sonic
New Sonic Opening in Spokane in a few weeks, it's by the Gonzaga campus between Division and Ruby. We are all so excited here. We have seen the commercials for a long time, so if you get the commercials in your town but no Sonic, maybe it means they will put a franchise there soon and they are just getting the public primed for it!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 5/17/2006 12:36 AM Bonnie
In Portland, OR here...and I too have been teased by all these Sonic commercials. My boyfriend and I were thinking about roadtriping to Idaho...but It would be $70 in gas each way >_> We were ready to hop in the car and take that 6 hour trip.

I heard a rumor that one opened in Salem, OR but...can't find info or a location anywhere... :-(

does anyone know wher ei can find a screen shot of the monster cookie commercial?!?!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 6/9/2006 8:53 AM ...
there are less Sonic's in the North, b/c in the South, they make a lot more $ in the summer (when it is warm and people don't mind sitting outside in a drive-in). It's colder more often, and just colder, period, in the north, so sonic wouldn't make as much money off of opening companies in the north.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 6/13/2006 7:27 PM Katie
The Spokane address is 1313 N Ruby St. Only one in Washington that I know of. No more 9 hour drives to Boise for my Slush fix...YAY!!!

There is a Sonic in Delaware...Bridgeville to be exact. I was totally suprised to see and I had to get to beach bfore 9pm on Friday so we hit it up today on the way home...I was in heaven!!!! Now, if they would just put one in Maryland I would so much happier. By the way I have called and told them a location that would be perfect for onr and they said they would pass it on to management so we will see!!!

I just moved to WA from UT where there are Sonic restaurants everywhere. I've been pining for a Sonic Sized Tots with Chili (no cheese) for about 8 months now, and can't wait until the Portland location opens! It will be worth the 40 minute drive, and I'm sure my family will agree - as long as it will make me shut up about the whole issue for long enough to finish my tots. :) MMmmmm!!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 10/26/2006 9:23 PM Erika
I live in Oregon, but lived in Tennessee for 4 years. Moved back 2 years ago, and have had cravings for a cream pie shake since then. This is gonna be a dream in Portland... Krispy Kreme on the east side, Sonic on the west side... sounds like heaven to me.

My son and I just moved to Vancouver, WA from Daytona Bch, FL and we are SOOOOO craving our fav foods from Sonic. Sonic was fairly new to Daytona before we moved, but we got hooked on it quickly. So here we are with NO sonic in sight and all these ads for it on TV. I need a breakfast burrito and an order of their Vadalia onion rings; and my son is craving his coconut blue slushies and hamburgers. Can ANYONE help us out here???

sonic was started in oklahoma and we are proud of it. it is really good food all around. but the best part is their drinks and deserts! watch out. sonic will take over the fast food industry and they deserve to. wonderful company and good neighbors for oklahoma city! hope you get to taste it soon!

Sonic is the best fast food resteraunt on earth! They have the biggest and best food selection, their limade's are amazing, and their commercials are hilarious. I wish i could find somewhere to download their freakin commercials. Oh yeah, they serve breakfast all day!

Are you guys serious! The reason I am here is because I was looking for a way to contact sonic about their commercials. THEY ABSOLUTELY DISGUST ME. I find them so stupid that I am in shock to run into people who actually like them. And the two guys in the car, what the heck! I refuse to eat there because of these commercials. Not that the food is any good anyway...

Basically the food always sucks, but the Drinks and Desserts ROCK! Plus the company is too stoopid to post their commercials, which is too bad, because some of them are pretty good.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 6/5/2007 9:44 AM Ante'
I'm from Jersey, me and my girl have wanted Sonic since we've seen commercials. Last weekend we finally took a 138 mile journey to somewhere in PA (that's the closest one) and it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! I have zero complaints about my experiences there. Drove down to Baltimore after and when coming back we went out of our way (about 2 and a half hours) to hit up the Sonic again. I'm actually considering opening one up in the NY/NJ metro area! That's how good it was! I love the "carhop" type of dining!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 6/8/2007 10:17 PM Kathy

I am a published writer and I think I can help this booming food service even more, if I can get an e-mail off to them. But who is them. I have their toll free number, but like I said I am a writer. I need to get my writing off to them.
I think I can help them get new stores to soar across America.

Sonic sucks. The food is ok, but Ive waited over 20 freaking minutes for a Limeaid. I was the only car in the lot. This wasnt an isolated incident. My wife waited for 15 minutes for cheesy chili tots and this was after waiting 10 minutes for them to answer the order button. Again, the place was deserted. Probably due to poor service. Screw Sonic.

Im sick of seeing Sonic comercials on T.V. in Seattle. Either gives us one or leave Seattle consumers alone. It probably cost you more to advertise in Seattle than it would just to open a Sonic here.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 11/12/2007 8:19 PM kate
trying so hard to find the commercials, there so funny! theres a few on youtube, and on random web sites, but not enough =[

Their are 24 Sonics in California, Lemon St in Anaheim is one on the south and Barstow has one. Sonic does National advertising so many people will see them. They have plans are in place to build more and one my come soon to your hometown. Not many comercials are posted, if you go to their web site and sign up to be a Sonic Cruiser, you will be able to see one there.

So, sometime near the beginning of '07 I heard on the news that somewhere near Kennewick Washington we were going to get a Sonic by Christmas... So where is it? What happened? Why have I heard nothing since? The 1st and last time I had Sonic food was when I went to Missouri in '05.. i loved it and am missing it........

The Sonic is on Gage Blvd in Kennewick. It is supposed to open the 23 of Jan. May be a slight delay due to weather etc... but definately by Feb.

We moved to Delaware from Dallas, Tx almost 3 yrs ago. Basically in Dallas, there is a Sonic on every corner and while there really got burned out! But now...I crave it like crazy! In the past year 3 have opened here in De...one in Bridgeville about 30 miles from me and 2 in Dover about 45 miles away! Best believe I hear the sonic sized breakfast burrito, chili cheese tots, and cherry limeades w/ xtra cherry call my name a little more often now! WE STILL NEED ONE IN REHOBOTH BEACH!!!

Another vote for Sonics in New York CITY. I'm pretty sure it'll never happen, but a guy's gotta try.

Love the commercials. The guy above who didn't 'get them' is someone i hope never to have to spend time with....

And, the menu.... Looks like something a mad scientist would create. And, i mean "mad" in the best possible way. If i lived near one, i'd balloon up by fitty pounds, and need a bypass within a year. But, oh, what a year it would be.

When can we get a sonics in Western Washington?

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 4/11/2008 3:26 PM sarah
Post Falls, ID got a sonic last summer. The line to get in the parking lot was like an hour long most of the summer. The food is great.
I love the commercials with the couple. I wish Sonic would post them somewhere, its advertising!!:)

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 4/20/2008 4:01 PM markelle
im so mad too, like everyday when i watch MTV which is my favorite channel i see a sonic restaurant commerical. its like a tease becuz i want some of the food so bad. i live in Maryland and the closest one to me is in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. its not fair becuz penn state has like 100 sonics in that one state. i know that they could have just put one in maryland. we would greatly appreciate it. even though we love mcdonalds theyre everywhere inMD and im sick of them. Im begging the people who decides to put new sonic in places to put it in maryland becuz not only would we be newly introduced to it but it would be a good financial move. just place it in baltimore county over the east side or either in baltimore somewhere near a mall such as towson or white marsh because these malls are packed everyday and we have good eating places such as boring old burger king, chic fil a , board walk fries, DQ/orange julius, (in which you may have a little competiton) but its ok and other food places. like wendy's. but if you guys come you may kinda put them out of business becuz it would be something new and different and after all of them teasing commercials everyone would be dying to try the food out. im telling ya you guys can make a hughe profit by just putting one of them in maryland. how could you guys put one in delaware before maryland and maryland has 5.5 million people while delaware only has .7 million people thats sad. alaska has more people than delaware. the less people equals the less money that you will make. and also please remember me and take this to heart and have one built by the end of 2008. i want to be the first maryland employee becuase im about to be 16 and im looking for a good job that will just be fun and different and will possibly be my dream fast food job. i jsut hope that you all take this into consideration and know that i took time out of my sunday to address this issue as i would call it becuase i feel that its very urgent that maryland gets a sonic restaurant. its like sad and i just want to cry becuz i realize all of the fun and good food that maryland kids and teens are missing out just by not having one sonic and if we do want to try one out we would have to travel 54 miles. i love sonic but i hardly even travel so i must be crazy if i even think about traveling just to visit a sonic in pennsylvania. i know those people in delaware and oklahoma, VA, and PA are happy. A little i wish i was born in virginia or a place where ther is a sonice resturant so i can be close by to one. as much as i love my state of maryland and as much as im attached to it i can almost leave maryland for another state that has a sonic. i mean if i want a sonic this bad in maryland you guys cant just leave myself anf the other states not fulfilled hanging dry. cmon even mexico has a sonic and maryland doesnt. its not fair. i just hope that we get one really soon. thanks. everytime i hear the name it gets me hungry and i want one of the junior wraps the chipotle or the chilli cheese. help me please im so hungry lol

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 5/10/2008 1:50 AM Patricia

When can we get a Sonics in Tacoma, Wa.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 6/28/2008 3:55 AM Fakey McFakerson
Is anyone noticing how many people in Washington want a Sonic. Someone please get smart and build a Sonic near Seattle or Tacoma. I promise it will be busy. For anyone who thinks it's too cold for people to want to visit a drive in, please come to Seattle in dead winter and see how many people are still walking around or riding bikes. Plus all we have is Dick's Drive-in... which compared to Sonic, sucks Dick's! :)

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 8/23/2008 4:12 AM FruityBooty
Is there some kind of invisible forcefield keeping Sonic away from puget sound?!

One's opening in Wenatchee -3 hours east
One's in Hillsboro -4 hours south
One's coming to Ferndale -2 hours north

They'll probably build a Sonic in the sky before they do in Seattle (or the eastside)

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 8/25/2008 11:31 PM rmc
Hi everyone,

I work for one of the companies bringing Sonic to Washington, we currently operate the Kennewick and Pasco locations.

You can expect Sonics to start opening in or around the Seattle area sometime next year. We are first opening Ferndale, WA and Yakima, WA.

For anyone in Wenatchee, WA if all goes as planned we should be opening tomorrow 8/26/08!

Thanks

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 8/29/2008 10:46 AM Sonic cant wait
Yes we are going to have a sonic in Puyallup by the end of this year. Its coming. I work with the guy that is planing all that to happen.
Just a little longer, ITS COMING!!!!!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 8/29/2008 10:49 AM Sonic cant wait
Also coming to Bonney Lake, WA after the Puyallup one

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 9/19/2008 4:58 AM FruityBooty
Do you mean Puyallup like way down in South Hill, or closer to Sumner?

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 9/23/2008 11:23 AM Sonic cant wait
Its way in South Hill area, right across the street from the post office in South Hill
Im not sure where the one in Bonney Lake will be located. I have not seen the area yet.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 9/29/2008 5:25 PM Kathleen
You have no idea how much I love Sonic, I have lived in the Southeast many times throughout my childhood, and never thought I would have such fond memories of the place. It's great. We visited my mom in Tennessee, and we made sure to visit Sonic. Great deals, great food, great portion size. I must say Sonic is the ONLY place that I have not loathed for putting ice in their sodas - they make it more like a blended iced drink.

I live in Seattle, and I'm sorry but even if they are opening them in Pierce county, it's just not close enough. I want the convenience of getting Sonic drive in on my way home from work, and I don't want to drive 40 minutes just to get it. I want it here. Stop showing Sonic commercials and start building them!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 9/29/2008 11:12 PM FruityBooty
I agree with Kathleen. Nothing is convenient in the Seattle area. We're stuck with Denny's and the Golden Arches. (Face it, Dick's is nothing spectacular). You drive north or south and you wouldn't believe what restaurants have been around all this time. I had no Idea we had A&W's, Weinerschnitzels, Marie Callender's, Sizzler or Izzy's. Even Ruby Tuesday!! They built a Carl's Jr. way out in the forest but Why Bother?

Sonic, Get you butt over here! (to Bothell)

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 10/4/2008 6:19 PM nancy
Well aint that just my luck, i am from TX (houston) and there are sonics all over the place. After living here for almost 4 yrs...NOW they decide to bring one near me and guess what, i'll be moving down south in NOV. Thats just WRONG!!!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 10/8/2008 8:53 AM tikkigal
I just heard that Fred Smoot of the Washington Redskins plans to open 2 Sonics in the Washington DC market!!! ( and 4 Waffle houses)....

After I graduated High School in Washington State I moved down to Arkansas to go to college. When I met up with my family down there the first place they took me to was Sonic. I instantly fell in love. Their burgers are spectacular, the drinks come with endless amounts of add-ons so you can make a drink that is all your own. No conformity to whatever they have on the menu. They serve breakfast all day their menu has just about anything you might be craving when you pull in. Go and give Sonic a try, they've got my stamp of approval.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 11/30/2008 7:26 PM A Day
Don't bother. Not worth the trip. Sub-par fast food at best. Cold tater tots, stale sandwiches, slow service. Not my cup of tea. I think they've gone down hill because the one I used where I lived before was great (Myrtle Beach - Dick's Pond Rd). But the one here in Anson Texas where I now live is so poor that it's dangerous to eat there. Until the franchise cleans up the bad performers don't waste your time.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 1/3/2009 2:46 PM juiced67
anyone know if the sonic in south hill opened yet?

and to the person said dicks restraunt is not good u smoking crack...it a seattle icon..

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 1/4/2009 9:18 PM Crystal
How about putting a sonic farther north in Washington, like around Renton? It would be more efficient, for me at least. I live up here by Seattle & driving all the way south to Puyallup is not too fun.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 1/5/2009 7:06 PM Hungry
How about a Sonics up by the Canadian border? Say Bellingham? I grew up around a Sonic Drive In in Kansas and I want a Frito Chili Pie!! And a Rt 44 Cherry Coke! I think it's only fair that the NW Pacific get some Sonics too! From Longview all the way up to Lynden! Quit teasing up with the commercials if you aren't coming up here!!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 1/16/2009 3:57 AM RIk

Sonic is great, but when are we getting a Whitecastke restaurant up here??? We NEED whitecastle!!!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 1/22/2009 10:07 AM Mike
Sonic is building a new restaurant in Easton, MD. I think its the first in Maryland. It's going on Rt 50 (Ocean Gateway) between Dunkin Donuts and Denny's. I think who ever is building this one is also planning more for the Eastern Shore and Anne Arundel county.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/7/2009 5:15 PM puffdaddy206
I cant find nada on the one in Puyallup. Iz it true????? I still really dont believe tha one in Ferndale exists... No advertising no nothin!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/7/2009 5:51 PM Jon
There's a Sonic coming to Puyallup at 136th and Meridian, just past longston across from the elementary. I drive past the construction site everyday and it looks like they just actually started moving the dirt around last week.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/8/2009 8:47 AM Bayou27
Ya, the one in Puyallup was supposed to open Dec 08, but that obviously didn't happen. Why? I don't know. But as previous poster wrote, they did finally start moving some dirt. And Yesterday they were pouring concrete. So, It should only be another month or two before the P-Town location opens up>

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/8/2009 1:06 PM chuck chew
i highly doubt they'll open in a month. seeing as how slow the ferndale one took, and how slow puyallup one is going i bet they're at the very least 2 months or more. granted the winter weather probably helped slow things, but we'll see. if it was open in a month that would be fantastic. the ferndale one very much exists, i drive by it every weekday.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/11/2009 12:04 PM granny
I'm packin' up the grandkids to go to the Grand Opening of Sonic in Ferndale.....supposed to be opening TODAY. I'll let you know.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/11/2009 2:06 PM Captinfantastic
i am going today as well i hope it its open (ferndale)

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/12/2009 3:13 PM Chuck Chew
Went to Ferndale Sonic today, opened up at 11am. they have overflow people wait in a seperate dirt lot and send cars in every 5 minutes or so. which is actually a good idea, and worked well. just expect some delays til the novelty wears off. even with that, it was well worth the wait.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/15/2009 7:34 PM Michael
What are the hours of the New Ferndale Washington Sonic Drive In?

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/17/2009 12:56 AM Kerr McGee
Ferndale? FERNDALE?!?!!! Where the heck is THAT? How did Sonic manage to miss the entire Puget Sound region completely and end up in freaking FERNDALE? Or is their crack-pot franchise/marketing team trying to aim for places in the middle of nowhere on purpose?

<sarcasm>
Hey, SONIC!! I hear the 42 Eskimos that live in Bettels, AK are looking for a good drive-in! It's also out in the middle of nowhere, and it's looks like a GREAT LOCATION to set-up shop. Whatever you do, don't build a Sonic someplace where you might actually make some money! That's just stupid!
</sarcasm>

HINT: If you think the people who live in the greater Seattle area are going to go 2 hours north to Ferndale for fast food, think again. Oh, they might do it ONCE for the novelty, but that's probably it. You'll have better luck trying to lure the CaNOODians down from Vancouver, so start playing your commercials there like you did in Seattle 4 years before you crossed the border into eastern Washington. Puyallup's certainly closer, but that's still too much of an armpit community to justify the drive for fast food from Seattle.

...or maybe you forgot that Boeing and Microsoft alone hire hundreds of thousands of people in the Seattle area?...

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/22/2009 7:31 PM Scooter
Armpit of a community huh? That's cool. I can live with that. That means fewer losers such as yourself will ever come down here and bother us armpit hairs.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/24/2009 3:25 PM AManInACan
Next up: Sonic Drive In comes to Puyallup. They are building on the South Hill off of Meridian. More will undoubtedly come after the success of the first two - and likely closer to Seattle than the first two as well.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 2/24/2009 5:44 PM Jon
They finally started building last week and they now have the building up mostly with some poles on either side of it (probably for the drive up.)

Suppose to open in April

Well I went to Sonic on Feb 14th, special treat for me and grandpa. Thought we would check out what all the jazz was about. Found out that I waited 30minutes for all the hype in a special parking area, then was sent by 3 flaggers to my parking stall. I had to lean way forward to even see the menu board because it was way past my husband's window for me to even see. I paid $15.00 for a watered down limeaid and a milkshake that the lid wouldn't even stay on so it was running down the cup the who time. But on the bright side, I was blessed to have bland chicken strips with too much breading and my husband complained about the "chili" sauce on his coney along with the whimpy "foot long hot dog" it might have been 12 " but it was like a regular size just stretched out! But the tater tots were great. Again, how hard is it to screw up a tater tot. I guess it's Dairy Queen for the shakes and McDonalds for everything else. But I gave it a try.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 3/2/2009 11:34 PM kake
I just wanna say as a person from Texas, I'm having sonic withdraws, cuz we have a sonic on damn near every block...............so they better hurry up and finish building it, and it better be good!!!!

I grew up in Houston, Tx. I loved Sonic when I was a kid, and I still have cravings. I hope it does well and we do get more locations around Pudget sound. Support the chain, and we will over come !

@ Scooter, Ferdale's Amazing Flying Goat:

Yep. Armpit. With a population of ~15,000 people (8,760 as of the 2000 census), Ferndale qualifies as an Armpit. A nice, day-old, stinky armpit, loaded with OLD SPICE (OLD indeed...)

As for your rude comment to me, you are cordially invited to suck on my Foot-Long, Chili-Cheese Coney!

Enjoy your $36k median household income, armpit hair.

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 3/20/2009 4:04 PM Scooter McGee
@Kerr McGee, Seattle's own Jackass.

Population: 33,011 (as of the 2000 Census)

Median Income: $47,269

Oh and by the way this is Puyallup! Maybe you missed the part where he said, "fewer losers such as yourself will ever come down here..." DOWN not up.

Well I need to go "freshen up" with my new Irish Spring deoderant.

Armpit hair, OUT!!!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 4/16/2009 12:43 PM Cowboy Spanker
I drive by the new Sonic every day. Never been to one but I'm exited to go, looks like a good time. Guys I know that have been to others say it's smokin good. Too bad for all you Seattle whiners about not getting one. Guess the state of Washington might not revolve around the Emrald City after all. Come on down and visit the Fair in September and go to Sonic too. Don't forget to leave a bunch of that Seattle money down here. Thanks!

I work at the new sonic in Puyallup, WA. Yes, we are opening 04/27/09 I know alot of you are excited but please understand that since this is the first sonic in this area 98% of the crew you will be seeing the first 3 months have NEVER worked in a sonic before myself being one of them. PLEASE I beg you be patient. If we get something wrong do not worry we will fix it for you! Just give us a little time we are still learning we have only had 4 trainning days it is all new. Thank you and hope to see you there.

I, too work at the new Puyallup Sonic. There's a guy IN the parking lot right now, in a red, white, and blue Corvette, waiting to be our first customer. He's been there since 4:30am this morning. That borders on fanaticism. Even so...y'all come on down!

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 4/27/2009 4:41 PM Dennis & Carole
We went to Sonic in puyallup today at noon, waited until about 1:30 before we got into a car slot to order. Well worth the wait!!! Chilli Dog & Sonic burger were great. Now PLEASE build one in Federal Way.!!

when are the hours of operation for the puyallup sonic?

# re: Sonic, America's Drive-In 5/2/2009 12:58 AM chris
i think they need to move down the street to the new target store location more room to park the wait time is ridiculous i have been there 4 times trying to get some food and the wait time is almost 2hrs screw that and there clogging up the street and near by busines's parking i think we have a problem here fire hazard and who want's to inhale tons of exhaust from other peoples cars while waiting in the staging lines and the wait times is going to kill them in the future

We have been to the Puyallup location twice since they have opened. First time we waited in the staging area for 40min that was on Thursday. Last night we went and the wait for a stall was 90+ min so we parked and walked up to order. We were in and out in less then 20 min. It's good food but like others around me, we remember having more variety on the menu. It all depends on what time of day you go as too how long the wait will be. The car hops are very friendly considering how hard they are working, they sure don't get much time to chill.

what are the hours for sonic??? are they open late? i'm really close to the new one in puyallup but i live on the back road and there is always traffic trying to get to it so i would rather go late when there is not as many people

I heard they are open 7am - midnight. The other day when we drove by around 10AM they weren't very busy. Cool thing is the entire menu is served all day. Just like Jack In the Box does, wish more chains would follow suit.

Greetings from Texas! Glad to hear you are all liking Sonic. My sister lives in Tacoma and was so excited that they were opening a Sonic in Puyallup right down the street from where she works. Every time she visits me she always wants to go to Sonic, just like when I visit her I want to go to Godfather's Pizza. And go to the Almond Roca factory.

Soooo if you thought the nearest to you was Idaho..... are you in Washington??? Cause there is a new one in Puyallup WA... Right off of Meridian and i think about 147th......

BRANDSPANKING NEW and the first one in WASHINGTON... hahahaha and in my home town... be ready to sit and wait though. the last few times i have even driven by. it has been jammed packed with lines formed by the staff at sonic to control the overflow of people who are waiting their turn. I believe it wont be long before they open one in olympia and bonneylake thought. Soooooooo if you can wait a bit longer im sure the hype will go down and the other stores will open.

I havent been to one in YEARS about 10 to be exact and im just going to sit it out and wait my turn sometime real soon

I used to LOVE sonic. i have ate there as a kid and loved it so much. Recently one opened in South Hill. DO NOT GO.... The service sucked. ALL my food was cold. and HALF my order was wrong. My girlfriends burger was cold so i told them and they said we will replace it. she also asked for no tomato, lettace or onion. and they just took out the lettace. PLUS they tryed to charge me for the one they said they would replace. Not to menchion me and my girlfriend BOTH got Food Posioning. The tots, fries, motserella cheese sticks where ALL UNDER COOKED. I bragged to my girlfriend and her family how it is the best. So i now look like a ass for reccomoending it. Its not worth your money. I asked for the manager and all he said was we can replace your meal. i said" No its ok. We are going to Mc Donalds." and i tryed to get my money back and it took 5 min. of me argueing to get it.

We have a Sonic Restaurant here in Spring, Texas. I patronize this restaurant at least once a day and sometimes twice a day. The employees from Management down to the cooks are the most friendliest people. The Store # is 4368. I have recommended this Sonic Drive-In, to co-workers, friends and neighbors. They are Fast, Friendly, just a super around bunch of people. Day Shift, Evening Shift. They truly care about their customers and satisfaction.
