Well, well, well. According to this article, Microsoft is getting ready to release a Tablet-PC Gaming SDK. Very interesting, indeed. Posted on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 2:39 PM Game Development , General Interest | Back to top

So that means that you will be joining us for the March PADNUG meeting, right? Seeing as Sean Campbell will be speaking on just this subject and all.

Hope to see you at the Nerd Dinner tomorrow!

I played the Nintendo DS while Christmas shopping and the only thing I can think of about this is that it will turn a Tablet into something like the touch-screen of the DS. I only played Metriod which was a little weird because you turned with the pen and shot with the pen but if you tapped a certain way you'd shoot instead of turn. There's probably some trick to that but hopefully any games that use the SDK won't do stuff like that because it should be obvious. I shouldn't have to do some secret technique for it to turn.

Sorry for the babble but well it kind of relates I suppose. I just hope Tablet Gaming SDK users somehow play Metriod to understand what NOT to do with a touch-screen and games.

Jeremy,

I couldn't agree with you more. I tried the Metroid game and all i could think about is how awkward and unintuitive the controls were. A prime example of a solution trying to find a problem to solve.
