Well, I'm officially addicted to Halo 2 and XBox Live now. I just finished playing a bunch of games online with Scott Hanselman and some others. What a blast. The last game was particularly fun.

We were playing “1 Flag CTF” where there is one flag and each team takes turns as defenders and attackers. The map was Zanzibar. Zanzibar is an incredible map. Very fun and very fast passed. It particularly takes pretty good team work if you want to pull of a smooth win. The game was four-on-four and we finally came together and played like a team. My job was to open the gate in the energy plant. Scott and the other guys hopped in the vehicles and got ready to fly into the plant when the gate was open. All times we were on offense, I found it particularly easy to open the gate (although I expect that it wouldn't be so easy against other people with higher experience than me). The last flag capture of the match was particularly beautiful. I opened the gates and dropped down and cleared out some of the enemy. As soon as the gates were open, Scott and the warthog came flying into the base. A teammate grabbed the flag and jumped up in to the warthog and it took off back to the beach for an easy victory. What a thing of beauty.

If I wasn't totally addicted before that game, I'm entirely hooked on it now. When a game goes that well, it's eerily like a potent line of crack cocaine (not that I would actually know if this is a valid comparison mind you).

So far, all the game types I've played have been very enjoyable. Slayer is actually my least favorite because I prefer the team-based game types. I didn't think I would like 1 Flag CTF when I first heard about it because I was so used to normal CTF, but I have to say that after playing a few rounds, I think I like 1 Flag CTF better than the old-fashioned CTF. Territories was a great game type, very strategic. And also Team Oddball is pretty fun. All in all, I have to say Bungie nailed the multiplayer experience down very well. It's really cool to get some good multiplayer action in without having to leave the house or try to get everyone together. Just find a couple friends online and you're set. I give you two thumbs up, Bungie :D.

I hear ya. So addicted. I was supposed to work the bulk of the weekend...so much for that! And I just can't get enough of the stats functionality at bungie.net. It's a ridiculous amount of data and content, it's hard not to love the concept that they actually did something so cool for the players.

We'll have to get like a big blog game together sometime.

I played halo 3 constantly, I'm on there all the time. The game is so intense, I dreamed about it every night. I play with a projector, which makes the screen about 90"; this renders the game almost lifelike because it takes up about 70% of your eyes viewing angle. I wigged out one day and punched the wall the projector displays the game on..... I seriously blacked out and can't remember much. Something just flipped in my head and I took out a fist size chunk of dry wall.

Am I crazy? Is this game too intense? I would think after something so real one might need a military style debriefing.

I discovered Halo Combat Evolved end of 2006 and was hooked up the first time. Quake II and Interstate 76 were my all time favourites, but later I didn't have a computer for many years.
Now, running Halo on 600x800 with the on board graphics of my P4 desktop where it plays "just about", I find myself infected soooo badly ... if I don't get my drug at least once a week, I feel sick.
I don't care what people say or think ... but I like it.

What do you think how excited I am looking forward to get a Monster PC (GeForce 8800 GTS, Q6600, ect) ... that should turn the colour slide show into an actually playable experience.

But I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one who is hooked up on it.
Hey, there are so many cool games on the market, just played the first time Half Life 2 recently, well well well ...
I consider myself not only addicted to Halo - but addicted to PC games altogether.
Many things come & go, but playing computer games (doesn't matter if X-box 360, Playstation 3 or PC, ect) will stay until I'm 79 years old,. hahahaha

its not worth playing online for 4 hours a day and have your life wasted. ...... you play 5 matches in 4 hours in Halo, and your life doesnt change, you just get fatter. Get a life, the world isnt a dumb online game.

Halo is the greatest thing ever!! How dare you, Fernando 664, mock my precious Halo. It is my life. It is my everything. It's even better than lacrosse or pottery. So what if I like to sit at home on weekend nights and play Halo? What do you do? Hang out with beautiful women and have fun? Oh yeah, that sounds like a real hoot...NOT! I can do that on Halo. I have a woman I can turn to. Her name is Cortana and we are getting married. I bet you will never get virtually married! Listen up Fernando 664...be careful the next time you make fun of a Halo Lover. We are a brotherhood!!!!

Dude you need to get a life! What a loser.....I bet you are 45 and still live with your mom. Have you ever seen the movie 40 Year old Virgin?? Bet not, but that movie describes your life, except you won't be getting laid at the end.

I was or i am badly addicted to halo CE multiy-player game for many years. I loved it to give some noobs a headshot. Then i developed a methode to stop playing halo. But unfortunately, this methode did work. Now, i cant never ever play halo again but i want it so much!

I think you're on your way to having a 20% or less Halo addiction level and that is something that even doctors from the best rehab centers have to work hard for, it means you still have a life. It's just like you know you're really addicted to WoW when you think you can use one of the coals from your fireplace as a hearthston or when you go to a graveyard or cemetery and wonder, "Where the is the Spirit Healer?"

It is still better to become a halo addict than to suffer opiate addiction or any other drugs.
