Wow!!!! What a game! I can't believe that OSU almost pulled an upset of #3 LSU. So, I guess I was proved wrong yet again. It really makes you realize though how important special teams. OSU misses two extra points in regulation, and they most likely lost the game because of that. And then in OT, LSU scored first. OSU matched and scored also. But guess what? Yep, OSU missed a third extra point, this time for sure costing them the ball game.

Even though my team lost, I have to say that this is a prime example of why I find college football so exciting. The fact that an unranked team can come into the house of a defending nation champion, and nearly win the game. In college football, there really are no sure winners. Sure, there are quite a few “blowouts” that occur, but on any given Saturday (I know it can be Thursday or Friday also, but I'm trying to be prose-y here damnit), any team can win any ball game.

It looks like the OSU defense is going to be extremely strong again. Granted, the LSU offense practically didn't play the game tonight. I'm starting to think that the Pac-10 is looking to be a ferocious division this year (like every year of course). The unfortunate aspect is that the Pac-10 doesn't get nearly the respect that it deserves in my opinion (besides USC and UCLA (when UCLA has a good time)). All you ever hear about is how good the ACC or the SEC is this year or that year. What 'bout the Pac-10? Sum' budy bettah reck-ig-nize, foooo!!!

That's what I call an exciting way to kick off the college football season for me.

Yikes! No kidding. It never ceases to amaze me how passionate people are about college football. To the point of murder for some apparently. It's really too bad. It's only a game.....

yeah. when they missed the very first extra point of the game i knew it was going to cost them. it's a shame they lost the game. makes me wonder about LSU's ranking... like, it's going to drop. (not that OSU is crappy, but LSU didn't play up to a #3 ranking...)

Bliz, I totally agree! As if the first missed extra point wasn't enough, then they missed the second one. I hate to say it, but I think most of us saw it coming in OT. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

I can't imagine that LSU wouldn't even stay in the top 5-7 teams. Most of the other teams in the top 5 at least looked fairly strong. LSU looked nothing like defending national champions. Of course, it is early in the season, so you never know. But even though they won the game, I still can't see them staying in the top 5. I guess we'll see soon enough....
