Well, I thought I would just do a quick post on my initial thoughts on Longhorn. Please keep in mind that I just installed Longhorn so I don't have much experience with it yet.

First of all, even without the true Aero experience, it is still quite a handsome operating system. The install went without a hitch. The total install only took around 30 minutes (I installed directly on the box). A couple little cool things that I noticed to this point that I look forward to exploring more in the future: download manager and pop-up blocker in IE, windows notifications “options” drop down menu, and the sidebar (more like developing tiles for the sidebar).

There are occasional hiccups but I take those with a grain of salt considering this is such an early build. I can't wait to start looking into XAML and other Longhorn-specific development tools. I will post back in the future when I have more experience.
