Introduction

I would like to take the time to introduce myself. I have been a lurker on geekswithblogs for a few months now and have finally decided to start a blog of my own.

I have been a programmer on the MS platform for the past 8 or so year. In that time I have been predominantly a VB/VB.Net programmer, in the retail and finance/accounting (small company and customers) sectors.

My goals over the next year or so are to become a better programmer by mastering methodologies like Domain Driven and Test Driven design. I think those 2 methodologies when used together seem to make the most sense to me. I will also be attempting to learn another language: I am thinking Rudy since that is the language that’s hot on the streets at the moment. I will be attempting to move most of my development to C#, but that won’t count as a new language since most of it will be just a syntactical switch.

At my current company I am hoping this will be a big year for us, hopefully I will be able to get them to use some of the more common OS projects like Enterprise Library, NHibernate, CAB, etc. Hopefully this will allow us to spend more time on things the DDD, TDD and CI making our software more flexible and reliable.
