Posting from Word 2007 - NOT

I wanted to try out the new Word 2007 blog posting tool as I really, really like the idea of having a nice spell checker to give people the illusion I know how to spell.

I started this morning and finally completed the download this evening. I think everybody on the planet must have been downloading because I usually get pretty fast downloads from the three networks I was trying at different points of the day.

Anyway, I installed Office 2007, Groove 2007, and OneNote 2007. All the installs were clean and smooth, except I had to keep rebooting… I opened Word—this is not Word 2003. I’m reserving judgment, but I don’t want my mom to upgrade yet. I can hear the phone starting to ring…

So, I clicked on the office icon and created a new blog entry. But my registration kept failing. Kirk Evans' Blog made me think this could be easy, but I kept getting an error.

Anybody have success yet?

I guess I’ll just play with Groove and then head back to the code mines…

Gravatar I haven't installed office 2007 yet (still downloading vista) but if you want to use the metablog api, try http://www.geekswithblogs.net/jlt56789/services/metablogapi.aspx

Gravatar Jeff's right, I used the metablog API.

It was easy, but to be fair it didn't go exactly as planned.

Registration didn't fail, but the post was delayed something like 3 hours. Try it again with the metablog API and then please let me know how it went (you can use the contact me link on my blog's HTML URL).
