RCA | Flat Antenna Review for Over-The-Air HD/DTV
Along with the new TV we purchased, I need a new antenna for Over-The-Air HD/DTV because I absolutely hate the Trek antenna I bought last year because of it’s bulky size and lack of a strong signal. I was strolling through Lowe’s picking up some stuff for youth group and I wandered by the home audio/video section. You will be amazed sometimes by the stuff Lowe’s carries and the prices compared to Best Buy and the chains. In this case I for the RCA Flat, non-powered antenna (see picture) for around ......

TV | Samsung 6000 Series 55 in LED TV Initial Review
Christmas is coming and so are the deals. Right now Best Buy has a huge discount (and you can find them in-stock) on the Samsung LED TVs. (I think I saved $960 off of the original price) I have needed a new TV ever since we moved. The main reason is we wanted something we could mount on the wall to keep away from the kids in the new house and my wife watched enough Food Network (she bakes cakes and cookies as her hobby) that the logo started to get burnt in. The black lines were definitely burnt ......

Windows 7 | Installed on my HP Mini 1000 and loving it
In the spirit of most Microsoft fan boys, I installed Windows 7 Beta on one of my machines as the primary OS and am having an excellent experience. No, it is not my TouchSmart (even though that would be awesome), but my HP Mini Netbook. As most have stated, this OS is very stable (except Lou and his BSOD) and am really looking forward to the test drive. I tried reporting some bugs I saw in the basics, but didn’t have any luck with the new Send Feedback feature. Hopefully it is due to everyone submitting ......

12/31/2008 | The Day The Zune 30 Died!!!
Today Doug came in with his Zune 30 and said, “Look at my screen, this is where it has been for 30 minutes.” I was shocked cause I had never seen that before, then I looked down at mine to find it synced with the exact same screen. So my question for Microsoft is “Why?”. Doug came back to the office a few minutes later saying the Zune boards are going crazy with this happening. I have my Zune 4gb right next to it and it is still working so this must be a Zune 30 only issue, but I can not completely ......

OT | Kansas City Air Show This Weekend
I know this is a bit off topic, or am I kidding myself by assuming I have an actual topic. Anyway, today around lunch some planes were practicing for the Air Show in Kansas City and we got some awesome shots. If you are in town and the weather is acceptable, I would suggest this event. It looks like it is going to be awesome. Here are some shots I took with the D300. Thanks to Doug for driving me to the different locations again, he is the best photo driver. Photo | Amazing Jet Contrail
Doug Butscher and I were outside at the EOB today and we saw the coolest contrail (new word for me) from a jet I have seen. It steadily progressed to get more squiggly as we watched it. Check it out! It looks like someone was using a pen in the sky. Technorati Tags: Contail,Jet Vapor,Vapor Trail,Airplane,Kansas City ......

See what Microsoft is Surfacing
The Zune and XBox 360 are amazing pieces of hardware and software working together to make an amazing media experience. Recently, I introduced Microsoft IPTV technology into my home and have loved every minute of that experience as well. But now, Microsoft announces the next level of media experience with Surface (every blogger will mention it today). It is definitely the most amazing machine and technology I have ever seen for the home and entertaining industries. I have already been passing my ......

No one likes me enough to tag me (Chris, Jason, ...), but..
...here are my answers anyway. I think it is a fun topic. [Update: Or maybe I just can't read well...Chris Haaker (can't believe he isn't an MVP yet) tagged me last year and I just didn't see it.] Geekswithblogs.net was created because I was kicked off of dotnetweblogs.com (A.K.A weblogs.asp.net). The back story was, a few of us were discussing the differences between VB and C# and we can just say the conversation started to get heated. Toward the end of the conversation, Cory Smith and I were the ......

Vista Users - Share Your Score
I found this site today (guessing some of you have seen it to) and I must say I love the idea. It analysis your Vista Score data and gives you a nice little HTML blob to share your Vista score on your blog as well as other tools. You can also view top performers in graphics and processors. Very cool! Here is my score (laptop): .score, { font-weight:bold; font-decoration:none; font-size: x-large; cursor: hand; background-image: url(http://www.shareyoursco... color: #ffffff; ......
