MSDN Webcast - Introduction to Blogging With Jeff, John, and Scoble Today!

Last week we did the Introduction to Blogging - IT Pro Perspective on TechNet Webcast and it went over very well.  Today we are doing the Introduction to Blogging - Developer Perspective for MSDN Webcasts at 11AM PST.  Go register and join in the fun.  The session is very interactive and is driven by a conversation between John, Robert, and myself covering topics like What is Blogging?, Aggregation 101, Communities, and Corporate blogging.  If you have any questions during the presentation, feel free to interject and we will get to them as soon as we can.

Also, check out TechNet Events Bloggers and MSDN Events Bloggers for more information about what is going on in the webcast community

New Look for Geekswithblogs

Well I have grown tired of the way the main page looks on Geekswithblogs.net.  So over the weekend, I have been working on a new design and I like what I have came up with.  Green is my favorite color, and after you look at the site, you will probably realize that.  Let me know what you think, because the design is definitely not RTM, consider this a CTP.

Might be too much green though, let me know if you think the items should be white like the advertisement in the left corner.

Update... I went ahead and changed it to white.

Power out at PDC

John reported to me that the convention center has only backup power right now.  Anybody know why?  Microsoft must be draining some big power for something cool.

Update: CBS Channel KCBS offers more news

PDCBloggers is huge this year, get your blog registered

Just like TechEd, John and I will be the aggregators for PDCBloggers this time around.  The numbers of registered bloggers is outstanding this year, over 500 and climbing.  To let you in on what it takes to run the site, during the event, John and I have split the list in half by name and will have about 200 - 300 posts to read every 2 hours.  Much over these post will be about the PDC, so we will be going through a process of elimination to decide what has been covered and then finding qoutes to pull from the blogger's post.  We use RSSBandit to do the aggregation, so thanks to that team for making such a great product, we will be load testing it pretty hard this week.

Since the shear number of bloggers is through the roof, I will not be attending the event to ensure the site has a steady flow of content due to the unavailablity of a strong constant connection at the event.  However, John will be on site to make sure the news coming out at the event is properly being reported through the site.  If you see John at the event, go say hi and he will talk your ear off about this community and the others that we run.  This PDC is going to be a great one, and I am sorry I had to miss it, but it's worth it to get all this content into the hands of the readers quicker and contstantly.  Wish us luck!

If you don't have a blog and are at PDC, start one here and register for PDCBloggers to let everyone know what they are missing.

Moving away from .Mac account

Well I haven't used a Macintosh for about 2 years now so I decided to move away from the .Mac service I was using.  This account cost over $100 a year and you only get 250mb of email storage.  Kind of crappy for Apple to only offer this much space for paying members.  This space is used by many of their services so it is easy to run out.  If you still use my jjulian2@mac.com email address, contact me here and I will give you my new email.
