Jeff Julian's Blog CEO of Enterprise Marketer
Jason so graciously demonstrated yesterday why a main feed like ours must be monitored before users can view it.  We all have great post, but every once in awhile, bloggers go off on a tangent or “test in production”.  These post cause us to lose readers.  Because of this, my next tool for Strategery is to redesign the mainfeed by monitoring post before they reach the global user.  This will not effect your individual readers, so you don't have to worry about that.  With registration going up, it is a neccessary evil.  And don't worry, it won't be just me doing the monitoring so your post will make it up within a reasonable amount of time. not gonna lie to ya, moderated posts concern me a little (as one who has been censored, regardless of how deserving it may have been) but I do think it may be a step in the right direction to help maintain the currently good SNR.

Any thoughts on how many folks will be pitching in on those duties? and how they'll be picked?

I hear ya, but the Global reader base is not only yours, so why should you be able to go off and lose eyes for my post? If you want to drop you own readers, that is one thing. I am guessing when Jason made that post last night, he didn't care what people thought, but you and I really do, so we need to protect that.

I subscribe to the main feed too.
Well with regard to moderating I think there is a fine line there. Definitely posts like Jasons need to be stemmed out from the main feed. But GWB is a community of bloggers, and most of us have varying interests and the blog posts reflect that. On average I personally only read about 50% of the GWB feed, the rest I just mark as read primarily because it may not be in my interest area. Similarly Jasons post was most definitely noise, but as long as its an odd occurance, its just as easy to ignore them (considering them as freak posts).
But you are right having freak posts does affect the quality of the GWB community.

Just my Rs. 2 (at current Foreign exchange rates = 2cts)
