Where is my ToGo TiVo?



Ok, listen up marketing folk. If you company has a big announcement, such as TiVo did with TiVoToGo, than make sure you CAN roll the product out. How much crap is it to make such an announcement and not update your customers machines. I have been put on a waiting list instead. Probably going to be one of the dumbest mistakes of the 2005, and they did it on day one. Crazy. Anyone else annoyed, or am I the only impatient one when it comes to technology and promises.

I'm annoyed with them too! My friend has a newer series2 box and he already got the update (despite registering on the waiting list *after* I did). I still see no sign of the update, only a warning from TiVo that it could take up to 6 weeks!

Of course, since I at least knew someone with it I went over to try it out, and I'm not that impressed. Hopefully they'll find a way to make it work faster (it downloads in near-real time from the TiVo, aka 1 hour show takes 1+ hour to download). Plus for some reason on my machine at least I can't even fast forward or move around in the video stream when playing back a file.

I hear you. I am still waiting for my Tivo update to "arrive". My Tivo is connected to my LAN/broadband.

I wish Tivo was able to play my iTunes.

I am not sure I want it - after reading all of the complaints... Sure I was annoyed at first - but it's like a new version of Windows... it sucks for the first people who get it - cause of the bugs - and then they fix the bugs...
So maybe they will hammer some bugs before I get it.
Mine works ok now under 4.0.1(b)
