Heh! I had a long conversation with a sprint employee today that left me with hope that something might happen.... a first for me, but then again, we'll see.

actualy we are a union biz. and we make damn sure our jobs stay here in the good ol' USA. I cant tell you how many folks I have talked to that said" Wow, you sound American, your not in India?" It is sad that the tech, and office jobs are going elsewhere, but thats what happens when the rampant politicans give thier rich CEO buddie tax breaks to seed our jobs overseas! This has gotta end!

Many folks don't realize the total number of employees dumped out on the street because of poor executive leadership and outsourcing of jobs to India which is not saving them money- but instead costing them more. They have been sucked into thinking that IBM can improve their bottomline, all in the name of "share holder value". Well, rumors are already flying that they don't like the projected numbers as they are today.... Sprint has been sold a bill of goods and now are up a creek w/no paddle!!! Serve them right!

The union is what helps to save jobs at Sprint & keep their benefits. Employees are now on strike in 4 states because of severe benefit cuts, despite $6 BILLION in profits last year & N.C. will be joining them in 2 weeks. Sprint siphoned off over $8 BILLION in profits from the local phone companies to invest in wireless & data networks NOT back into local. And now they plan to spinoff the local with over $7 BILLION in debt. Management promises to "continue to make it better", but you can't do that if you're not spending local profits on the local infrastructure. And that's the truth!
