VSS 6.0c is the most current version of source safe. I have discovered this has very limited functionalty and also has some limitations that have caused me some troubles. A product I have started using the replace vss is Vault. Sourcegear valut is a source control software the intergrates into Visual studio and will allow for automated builds.

Migrating Thunderbird
I am switching computers and needed to migrate my Thunderbird email client data to another machine. I did a little googling and did not find too much until I found Thunderstor It allows you to take your thunderbird account and exprt to eml files. Then import into system of your choice. If you are moving from one thunderbird account to another you can also just move your profile. It is located at c:\documents and settings\yourusername\appli... data\thunderbird\profiles\*... Good Article - Flash and Rich Applications
This is a really good read in regards to Macromedia Flash and new technology. I like the comment, “There are many agencies and design studios who have yet to realize that interactive agencies are the agencies of the future, and to survive, an agency has to implement process similar to that of software development.“ He goes on to explain that interactive agencies will deploy applications like a software development company. One thing I really agree on is the fact that CSS can make a site seem more compatible w/ multiple ......

Future of Web Development
I was at an interesting presentation the other day where Rocky Lhotka talked on “Creation of Distributed Object-Oriented Applications in .NET”. His presentation was very well done and I enjoyed listening to all the information and ideas. When he was speaking I caught something from him that I had not thought about before. He mentioned that the web as we know it is dead. And if you think about it he is correct. Let’s stop and take a look at this idea. Do you know what features will ......

New Site launch - Macromedia Flex
We have just launched a new site at work today. www.omnova.com. The interesting part of this launch is the use of a new server application called Macromedia Flex. You can get to the application part of this site by going to www.omnova.com/designcenter. The Flex application allows for a rich internet user interface to be generated through remote data access points. We had many issues getting this application to work in specific environments. Many of these issues were based on both the types of browsers ......
