Someone in our organization has decided that we spend to much money on trash can liners. Yes, trash can liners (this from a company that had net income of $2.5 BILLION last quarter). Also it would appear that the company that we contract to do the cleaning can't empty trash cans and vacuum all in one night (sounds like a management issue to me). So, in order to resolve this problem this same person has decided that instead of everyone having their own trash can that it would be better if there was only 1 large trash can per floor. There are appr. 80 on this floor. Most everyone on the floor is a fairly well paid IT professional. Using
http://salaryclock.com/ I calculated that it costs the company $0.69 for me to walk to the “community” trash can. My guess is that the liner in my trash can did not cost near that much. I bet you can't guess who's office is going to become the new “community” trash can?
