I have begun the torture of another writing cycle. We are starting work on Professional C# 4th edition. Should be released about the time Whidbey goes out. One of the issues that I always have when writing is keeping backups in sync. I will use either the laptop or my home desktop for writing. I have tried several different syncing tools and I think I have finally found one that actually works. SyncBack from 2BrightSparks. It's simple, functional and reliable. You can backup to another drive, folder or FTP location. It will also sync folders. You can set up multiple tasks and even have them on a schedule. One of the nicer features is that you can do a dry run and see what it thinks needs to be synced. This seems to be missing from some of the others that I have tried. Best part is that it's freeware. A pro version is apparently in the works.
Highly recommended.
