Desktop Search dot Info » Hacking With Google Desktop Search
This is in general yreally old news, as all the GDS arguments where already heard when it came out, but I just found this link, so endulge me.
I like de whole desktop search idea, but people’s concerns about privacy keep turning out to be well-founded, here the latest example.
Considdering how Google Desktop Search works, by basicly running its own webserver, and relying on ( spoofable ) methods to check the page is being run from the local machine (hey look, I am being called from localhost, so that must be oke then!), I am not at all suprised by this.
