Jeremy Wright denied entry into US cause blogging consultant apparently cant be a real job

With a certain amount of amazement, I have followed anumber of posts today by Jeremy Wright from Ensight.org, on his apparent arrest and interrogation by border police and homeland security officials, apon trying to move to the US, to start work as a blogging consultant for McGraw-Hill, the fortune-500 media group.

The details have been taken offline for now, for good reason, so I wont go into them either. But it basicly boils down to the US border-police and officials from the department of homeland security not believing his story…

Now I know Jeremy a little bit.. I have spoken to him on several occasions, and we discussed corperate blogging in a tech chat for In The Trenches, I have him on Skype, and I can tell you that he seems to be a really great guy.

My point being, that he is a well-spoken, intelligent, charismatic young-man, and a professional by anyones standard.  To then read how exactly he was treated by these border-police figures, is really quite disconcerting! I find it very very hard to imagine anyone treating someone in that manner, on the border of what is suppose to be a well-developed, modern, western country, a country that usually has a lot to say about civil liberties and free speech.

I will probably have more to say on this topic, once Jeremy desides to re-release the specifics.

Agreed, I was watching those posts too, and couldn't believe what I was reading. Do all border guards (whatever they're called) need to be that nasty before they get their jobs? If they're trying to get people to panic and crumble under pressure, I think the way it is now, it gets everybody they interrogate to have a nervous breakdown instead of just terrorists/troublemakers.

There must be a better way of doing these things than to make people absolutely hate and despise border security.
