KSU's Bill Walker Pees In a Towel

When you gotta go, you gotta go. Last night in the Kansas State vs Oregon game, Bill Walker was seen peeing in a towel or two right on the court in between plays. Here is a clip. It isn't the greatest, but I haven't found anything better. From what I hear, the towels just sat there by the bench and no one would touch them. I feel sorry for whoever had to clean that mess up. Couldn't he just find a bottle or something? If you find any better clips let me know! Technorati Tags: KSU Kansas State Wildcats...

Exclusive Interview With Santa Claus

Jake's Blog is proud to annouce our exclusive interview with the jolly old elf himself. We recently took a trip to the North Pole to get a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes at Santa's Workshop. JB: Hi Santa! Or should I call you St. Nick? SC: Santa will work for me. How are you doing son? JB: A little cold. How do you hack it up here? I think it's time you start thinking about some beachfront property. I hear there are some great deals on timeshares these days. SC: Ho, ho... oh, you are funny....

Ajax in .NET 1.1

I recently was working on a project in .NET 1.1 and needed an Ajax solution and .NET 2.0 or beyond was out of the question due to hardware and environment constraints. I found a solution I wanted to share. Maybe you have found a better one out there, but I was quite pleased with what I found. I found http://www.ajaxpro.info/. It was written by Michael Schwarz in Germany. I don't know the fellow and haven't tried to contact him, but he wrote a heck of a solution. I really enjoy the flexibility. One...

MU Big 12 North Champs

It's official. The Missouri Tigers beat the Kansas Jayhawks 36-28 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO for the Big 12 North title this evening. They played in front of a packed house, split nearly down the middle between KU and MU fans. They obviously were not bothered by the Kansas fans, ESPN Gameday crew, and the national television broadcast. Missouri got on the board first, jumping out to a 14-0 halftime lead. Kansas missed 2 field goals in the first half and Todd Reesing threw his first interception...

What I am thankful for

Sorry it's been a week since I wrote last. It's been a tough week. Last Friday I received the news that my grandfathers health had taken a toll for the worst. Monday, I went to work like normal and received a call that his time had come. I rushed to the nursing home to be with my family by his side as he passed. I had never experienced death like this. Every time someone around me has died it has been unexpected. This was the first time I knew it was coming. In fact, we have been preparing for this...

Destiny?

After watching Oregon lose to Arizona last night I started thinking about the big picture in college football. Assuming the rest of the top 5 take care of business this weekend, the rankings would be 1. LSU, 2. KU, 3. OU, 4. MU, 5. WVU. How weird is that? Three big 12 teams in the top 4 (assuming everything pans out). How weird is it to see KU and MU that high? I know the national scene is used to seeing Oklahoma that high already. Me, being a Missouri Tiger fan, I am just so excited about the coming...

Code a sentence

What's up with me? I'm writing about coding instead of sports or my distaste for when my friends are drunk. How weird is that? Ok, one tidbit, MU won tonight in their second basketball game of the season and will be playing at the Sprint Center here in Kansas City. Pretty cool! I guess this is another pet peeve inspired post. I want to know how many of you out there try and make your code read like sentences? I do it nearly everywhere. I even try and do it in my naming conventions in SQL. For instances...

Another quickie

I love sports! If you read my earlier posts, I think that is a common theme. There are many reasons why, and I'll get in to them in a different post when I feel like writing a lot about will power, confidence, character and all that good stuff. But this one needs to be short and sweet because I am getting ready to head out the door. Running up the score: Good, Bad, or Indifferent? I guess this is my first survey type of blog post. I want some feedback on this one. I'd like to see what kind of thoughts...

Just a quickie!

I know I just posted a while ago, but I am kind of getting in to this thing. My friend just called me with the BCS standings... MU is up to 5th! I am so happy for my Tigers! Yay us! I actually, just watched a video clip from Mike DeArmond of the KC Star and he has Mizzou at #3 in his AP voting (http://videos.kansascity.c... His top 5 were: Oregon Oklahoma Missouri Kansas LSU I think that is great! I have thought LSU has played way too many close games this year...

Time for changes

This one is going to be like the sequel to my first blog post. I am actually not that bad of a writer, so I hope my style continues to evolve and I get in the flow of doing these blog posts. I've never tried and it is definitely different writing about me instead of something fictional or some situation in a very vague way like I do with song lyrics. I don't like to fail, so I'll keep trying to get better at this. Hopefully, I'll gain some readers along the way. It deinitely feels good to have a...

Lessons learned

I have never attempted to blog before, so this might take a while to get used to. I guess I'll start with my day today, and then I can introduce myself over time. I had a good and bad day. With every day, there are lessons to be had and whether or not we accept them and learn and move on. Today, me and some friends drove to Columbia, MO and watched the MU vs Texas A&M game. MU won 40-26! Yay! Go Tigers!!!! Ok, that was one of the best parts of my day. I did want to share some lessons I learned...
