Database -> RSS -> Database
I've had an idea for a while. I subscribe to a ton of blogs, 98% of which are programmers. Once in awhile I'll come across a post that I really need to save for later. RSS just doesn't cut these kinds of posts because even though comments are syndicated, I go to the website to view the full thing more than I use RSS Bandit to view the post + comments. My thought was to develop a database backend that I could use to pull entire posts + comments into. It would sort of be like a “offline blog” ......

Jeremy in cyborg
Thanks Tariq for the link to the cyborgname.com page. Here's my name: What's really funny is this fits me to a T. I am very vivid about what I talk about. When I see a problem, I shout about it and I don't let it go unnoticed. I'm also very mathimatically oriented. I think in numbers and I dream in 0's and 1's. I haven't journeyed out of my state much, but I hope to change that soon. I also haven't replicated yet but again that may be soon as well. Thanks again for the link. I love little things ......

Signs your relationship isn't quite working out
When my girlfriend told me about this, I laughed even though it's rather pathetic what happened. I told her the story was too good not to blog, so she posted about it. You can read it here. Guys, don't be stupid. Tell women when you don't want to be with them any more. Women do the same. Don't play games or use some kind of stupid stunt like this to say “I'm don't think it's working out”. Communicate your feelings with words. These tactics make you look petty and childish but apparently ......

There's nothing like the smell of charred lung in the morning...
I hate waking up to the smell of cigarette smoke. I hate smelling it for the first 30 minutes to an hour that I'm awake. My nose processes the smell differently than normal and my lungs take an extra hit of nastiness. I used to smoke a pack in a month, back when I would drink because there's nothing better to do than smoke when you drink. Well there is video games, pool, and a couple of other activities that can be fun but usually you have a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Needless ......

Thoughts on President Reagan and the fall of Communism in Hungary
Neil Hetzel originally posted on this and reading it made me think about things. His post is here. The government, a lot like the military, operates on “need to know” and most politicians believe much of the American public doesn't 'need to know' certain information. All Presidents of this country have to develop this type of behavior. It could lead to 'widespread panic' or some other term officials in power use to try to believe that by telling us everything, it'll make us hate the government. ......

Automatic driving tickets
Recently there have been red light cameras installed on Georgia roads. These cameras take snapshots of your car as the light is turning red. You will then be mailed a ticket instead of getting one the 'old fashioned' way. The fine is something like $70 which I think is rather steep for running a red light. I've not studied to see if this is the same rate you'd be charged if a cop caught you 'manually' but I'm willing to bet it's slightly higher to cover the 'cost' of the camera. On the local news ......
