Interop with .NET Framework 3.5 Pipes?
Recently, I was tasked with doing some serious re-factoring on an application where the UI was WinForms and the back end was native C++. The intent was to re-factor the native code into C# because of the performance hit we were taking with the interop between the managed/unmanaged code (this is a extremely processor intensive application) and because the native code back end was beginning to cause some serious limitations regarding feature extensibility. Dual-Booting Windows 7 and XP
After attending the MSDN Developers Conference on January 16, I decided Windows 7 was just to cool not to try. However, I didn't exactly have an extra PC laying around the house. Then, a co-worker reminded me that my HP dv8000 had an extra drive bay. After a trip to the store to get another hard drive, a few hours of partitioning the drive, burning the Windows 7 image to a DVD and then installing Windows 7, it works like a charm. MSDN Developer Conference - Washington D.C. Rocked!
Yesterday morning came earlier than usual so I could trek to Reston, VA for the Washington DC MSDN Developer Conference, however, it was WELL worth it! Stephen Walther gave the keynote, hitting all the high-points of Azure and how it will play such a prominent role in future .NET development.
