Interesting SOA Approach

Fellow NTeamer Ron Buckton passed this link from Rocky Lhotka concerning Message-based WebMethod overloading as a possible approach for the NTeam architecture and I really like the idea. Most importantly, it works. My only complaint is the same one Rocky brings up: it is not as clean as I would like. There is also an accompanying article from Bill Wagner. Unfortuanately, there was no follow-up on Wagner's initial post as promised that I could find.

# re: Interesting SOA Approach

Gravatar I've done this and I wouldn't recommend it in the general case. You wind up needing to touch your proxy and web service each and every time you (or anyone else on the team)subclass the request or response types. Anyone that claims it decouples anything is smoking crack. It's cleaner IMO to leverage XML schema. 6/23/2005 9:26 AM | Mickey Williams
