Lack of Interest
For several weeks now I have been trying to raise the interest level for .NET in the Knoxville area with the local .NET user's group and I can't even get a response from them. The primary contact no longer has the ability to retrieve his email from his previous employer but hasn't updated the contact information on the site. I have been watching the meetings page for months and nothing has changed. What does Microsoft do about groups that are no longer active? If I continue to get no response and see no activity what should I do? Should I start a new group or see if I can revive interest in the original group. I know there are enough .NET programmers in this area that will keep the group going.

re: Lack of Interest
There is nothing that says that there can't be two or three .NET user groups in one city ... start one up.

re: Lack of Interest
Here is the response I have received from the ETNUG leadership. Hopefully, things will get better.
Jason,
The planning committee is in a transition period. That is why you have not
heard any information from us. We have a planning meeting this Wednesday
and you should be heard from us soon. Thanks for interesting and supporting
the group.
John,
Please add Jason into our member list if he is not already in the list. I
believe a lot of members have the same wondering as Jason. It will be a good
idea if you can send a heads up news about our plan to all group members.
Thanks!
Jack Wang
Jason,
I added you to our distribution for the .Net User Group. We are shooting for a big kick off event (after a slow summer) in November.
Thank you,
John J. Gargis
