Picking a mentor

I have a little advice for everyone when picking a mentor to help with code reviews, tight situations, etc. I selected a mentor that is VERY familiar with the existing code base and I was sure that he would be able to answer any questions that I might have. I am not sure that I really selected him or if he was thrown at me for the fun of it since he has was intimately involved with every project I have done. To make a long story short, the guy is a great coder, has a good mind for architecture, standard practices, and has great knowledge of the existing codebase. However, he does not have the time to help me. I have been trying to get a few minutes with him for three days now and he just doesn't have a few to give away. I am just very glad that I am not under very tight deadlines yet or I would be in a serious situation.
