We are re-writing the GIS/Mapping features of RAMSAFE and if you have used the older, clunky interface, you will be presently surprised with the new interface. Chuck Comstock, our GIS guy, went out of his way to make it easy to use, intuitive, and visually pleasing. It is a huge step up. And, if you use ESRI software, you will be right at home (and doesn’t everyone). I wish I could lay claim to the interface but my only hand in the whole affair was the data access and manipulation ......
I am building a setup project that will be used to deploy several different applications such as Adobe Reader, MDAC, IPix Viewer, etc before the Ramsafe product is installed. However, if MDAC is not installed on the client system, it will ask for a reboot after the MDAC installation. If I say no, the installation fails. Any links to articles or samples that someone can point me to for setup project manipulation will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance ......

I guess that every one has their own view about this topic but I practice both approaches. I try to handle exceptions that I know will possibly come up like a connection that should be open but is not, a file that is locked by another process, etc. My concern is that I am noticing that some developers use exception prevention exclusively and by-pass exception ......
