Free Internet Explorer (IE) Spell Checker ...that spell checks text Imput Boxes on WebPages ...

ieSpell is a free Internet Explorer browser extension that spell checks text input boxes on a webpage. It should come in particularly handy for users who do a lot of web-based text entry (e.g. web mails, forums, blogs, diaries). Even if your web application already includes spell checking functionality, you might still want to install this utility because it is definitely much faster than a server-side solution. Plus you get to store and use your personal word list across all your applications, instead of maintaining separate ones on each application.

ieSpell  is free for personal use only. All other use requires a commercial license

I used to use IESpell all the time. And I'm not knocking it. But since the google toolbar got a spell checker added to it, I've uninstalled IESpell.

Just thought I'd mention :) 6/23/2005 7:18 PM | Geoff Appleby

Hello! I'm just writing to tell my postitive and negative experiences at my stay here. First, I like to say the service was great, always cleaning well, curtisous and respectfull. One of the problems with my stay at the hotel was the laundry. There's only 1 washer and dryer for a 4 story hotel...,and the washer has been broke ever since I got here. I had to drive four miles down the street to do laundry. Another problem with hotel is the TV. It's a Zenith made in 1980's. It's ridiculouisly small, very unclear though it's years of usage. Also it has no dvd. There's no pay per view events, but still has a Nintedo 64. The internet connection is very below average. the wireless service provided is basicly worthless. I really hope these comments help to make and better hotel stay, because i often come to Augusta, once or twice a year, and stay for at least a month at a time. Please e-mail me with any feedback. ieSpell is a huge disappointment for me. It will NOT run under a normal "limited" account. It requires administrator rights. Otherwise you get this weird "Exception Raise! Automation server can't create object" or something like that. Requires administrator rights to spell check? That's ridiculous. 3/22/2007 10:09 AM | Timothy

Just wondering if ieSpell can be put on a server and run server side so that each client doesnt have to individually download it?.... Also why don't we all just use Firefox v2 its got a built in spell checker 8/16/2007 11:26 AM | Dave

There are lot of HTML Text editors that include spell check functionality. Some of them do require Word to be installed at the client while others are self suficient. 8/27/2007 7:44 PM | Jawad

Someone, it may have been you folks, made my (IE) spell chcker work. BUT recentluly it stopped working. After I hit F7, the pop-up box says "The Spelling check is complete," but it says that even when I type in words that are incorrectly spelled. Do you have a solution for my problem? 5/14/2008 12:37 PM | DAVID E PETERSON
