Okay, so it's not really news, but I stumbled across
this excellent post about the office design of
Fog Creek Software, Joels company.
Two things came to mind:
1) I wanna work there!
and
2) It's a fantastic filosophy to have as an employer, that the work space actually matters. Not only for those working in it, but also when having to find new employees. There's nothing new about the everyday effect that our surroundings have on us, but in the software industry (and many other industries), it tends not to be prioritized much. That's a damn shame, considering how well it
could be done, and how much it could potentially do for you.
