C# 3.0 - implicit typing ("var")
I just browsed through the C# 3.0 Language Specification, and noticed something horrific. They are planning to support implicit typing, meaning that the following could become valid code (outside of JavaScript ;-):var test1 = 1;var test2 = 1.0;var test3 = "test";The above code initialises an int, a double and a string... I fail to see how this is not a "downgrading" of C#. I mean, it bothers me that this way is the "only" way in JavaScript! Why introduce it in a "third"-generation programming language? ......

Don't F*** With Nerds
Rory Blyth uses his supreme geek skills to prove a Mini mechanic (no, the mechanic probably wasn't peticularly short) wrong. In short: Don't Fuck With Nerds.Rory vs. The Liars: "He got on his knees and pointed to a Thingy.'That there is your three-quarter inch chrome-reverse muffler bearing. If you see how it fits into the pressure shim just there, you'll see how it could never rotate up so that the fender torque-flap fits into its slot nice and neat. So, it's impossible that your bumper ever lined ......

Not so strange behavior after all...
Yesterday I "complained" about some unexpected behaviour in .TEXT - but as it turns out, stupid is as stupid does... Apparantly I had chosen to ignore the option to include PostConfig enum(s) when creating a new post. The PostConfig enum allows you to define which of the Advanced Options should be "on": net.geekswithblogs.PostConfig p = net.geekswithblogs.PostConf... ......

Very strange GWB behavior?
Okay, so I wrote a little tool to import some of my old Blogger-posts into GWB. Connected to the web service and everything, and after posting the first one, I saw that even the original posting date was being registered correctly (had some issues with datetime formatting/interpretation to begin with). So I started importing a couple more posts - got to number 5 of 195 posts total when I thought that maybe I should check whether these posts were showing up in places they shouldn't... Good thing I ......

Code highlighting
As a complete n00b here at GWB, I'm wondering if there are any ready-to-use options for code highlighting here? Let's give it a shot: string strTest = "Testing";Console.WriteLine... Well, it seems to work somewhat in Design view... [UPDATE: via Aaron I found out that the Snippet Compiler has an HTML export function. I tried it, and it looks slightly better. I had to work the HTML a bit so it wouldn't interfere with the template design, so it doesn't exactly look like VS.NET. ......

Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar (First Post)
I just downloaded the new Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar Beta - and I'm lovin' it! It looks very much like the plug-in I've had for FireFox for quite a while now, but it rocks to have it for IE too. Also, this is my first post at geekswithblogs, where I'll be posting technical stuff from now on. I have another blog at http://jannikanker.blogspot... where I'll be posting the more personal (leisure time) stuff. As of now, it's still stuffed with tech, but that ends now ;-) Oh, and a very short ......
