Ah, I got a response from Gamestop about how crappy it is that they're charging me $5 for the "pre-order":




Thanks Valerie!  Basically she said "Screw you customer, we'd rather keep $5 and lose your business and have you complain about it all over the net than actually help you!"  Not like it hurts them any, store just has one more game in stock that they're gonna sell. 

Here's where it says in the checkout that gamestop doesn't know what "pre-order" means and the $5 charge if you don't pick it up:





See the $5 charge?  Yeah I know it's there but it's still stupid to piss off customers over something so petty.
