Microsoft is banning certain cryptographic functions from new computer code, citing increasingly sophisticated attacks that make them less secure, according to a company executive. The Redmond, Wash., software company instituted a new policy for all developers that bans functions using the DES, MD4, MD5 and, in some cases, the SHA1 encryption algorithm, which is becoming "creaky at the edges," said Michael Howard, senior security program manager at the company, Howard said.

Now I feel I have to change all my MD5 usages to SHA... some security is better than none

I happen to attend the Microsoft seminar for ISV Community partners on Data handling using VS 2005. Though mostly dry seminar, ObjectBinding is one thing which caught my eye and certainly looking forward for this feature. The speakers Rajiv Sodhi and Deepak Gulati tried their best to keep people awake with their witty humor, certainly post lunch session was sleepy and I had to take more caffeine to keep me awake.

Overall, the seminar was pretty much a marketing from Microsoft to sell Visual Studio, as the speakers spent most of their time explaining the data binding controls in Visual Studio 2005.

After the seminar and I woke up to the reality and came back to my office :-)

Well, do you know anybody who hate their weekends?

There are people who hate their weekends. I hate my weekends, probably for a very unique reason.
I hate my weekends because, I have to wash my clothes weekend after weekend after every damn weekend. I tried several ways. I tried giving my clothes to the laundry, I tried washing machine, I tried every damn possible thing, but still ended up hand washing clothes every weekend. Damn, I want to break free. Queen, save me...

My friends gave several ideas, most of which were already tried out. Then, oneday I read somewhere... We have to think out of the box. mhmm, I like this idea.

I atlast broke free...

I hired a maid who washes my clothes every wonderful weekend ;)
