Installing Visual Studio 2005 on Windows vista

I have just installed VS2005 on vista. Although I was setup for a whole host of problems, I had relatively few. There were some errors during the instalation. But all seams well...

Ummm, I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeealy want to have Visual Basic 2005 on vista, But I never tried it on becoz' I never really have bought the software coz' I was scared it wouldn't work I lost money becoz' of that. Can you pleaze upload the software for me?

P.S.
I ended up buying Visual Studio 2008 (version 9.0) but it was worth it, I used the visual C# to make a program called "Hello World". But it was from internet and I really wanted to make MY OWN PROGRAM. Could you please also upload a "How to" file?

P.S.S.
I was confused with visual studio 2008, Codes were different and stuff, I really never made even 1 code working (except "Hello World")!

When you create a project in Visual Studio 2008 you can select a drop down list at the top right of the of the dilog box and target .NET Framework 2.0 just like Visual Studio 2005 :)

Keep coding... you will get there :)

Hi there

Im having a problem installing VS 2005 on my laptop which runs Windoes Vista Home Basic. During setup i get an error that says "This program has known compatability issues"...if I ignore this I get problems later....
What should I do? Is VS not able to run on this version of windows?

The installing process stops in the middle, I can't stop it,even worse find out no reason.Can you tell me how to do?

Mine only prompts a dialog box that says that there are some compatibility issues with the software being installed (vs2k5). It also does this in other software... Man, Vista sure is noisy and meddles a lot.

hey,,, i think you got error message cause you must have SP1 of visual studio .net 2005 installed on your vs.net 2005...just install it on your windows and then get to download.microsoft.com and download sp1 of your visual studio and everything would be fine.
