Collaboration between Microsoft and Novell on, Windows/Linux interop

In a press release Microsoft announced the collaboration with Novell on Windows and Linux interoperability. You can read the whole press release here. Does this mean that Microsoft is going to fully support the Mono project as well? I guess time will tell but that will open so many doors!
