In Windows XP when you try to do a search for people or computers you see a different dialog box then you would normally see when you try to do a search in for example Windows Server 2003. This is how the dialog box looks in Windows XP:
There is however a way to open the more detailed Active Directory search dialog in Windows XP:
Start -> Run -> rundll32 dsquery,OpenQueryWindow
Which will open the following dialog:
