IBM PC 25th anniversary

25 years ago on the 12th August 1981, IBM announced the first personal computer (PC) or at least the first Personal Computer compatible with IBM's specs. The first real PC was the in 1973 introduced Xerox Alto which had a graphical user interface and the characteristics of a desktop computer. 

The Apple I was introduced in 1976 and about a year later the more popular Apple II was introduced. So the first IBM Personal Computer that was introduced 25 years ago was the IBM 5150:

You could by one for the price of $1,565 which is the equivalant of about $3,500 today therefore it wasn't a great success in the home market but affordable for a lut of businesses.
